August Guest Designer Missy Whidden

Hello Simple Stories fans, Layle here with you today :)

I'm excited to introduce you to our August guest designer Missy Whidden!

Hi there! I’m Missy Whidden, and I’m a small town girl from Florida. I’ve been married to Marshall for 13 years, but we’ve been together for 19. We have two beautiful daughters, Reese and Paige. They are the primary inspiration for my scrapbook pages. I began scrapping during the summer of 2006 right before Reese was born. My mother-in-law asked me to help her create a scrapbook for my husband, and I was instantly hooked. My style has come a long way since stickers and deco scissors. I love using inks, paints, sprays, and modeling paste with templates, and I love patterned paper. One of my favorite embellishments is buttons. When I’m not scrapping, you can find me at the gym teaching a few fitness classes. I also love to read. I am beyond thrilled to be guest designing here at Simple Stories this month! Thank you so much for having me!

Missy created 6 amazingly detailed layouts for us this month using our I Heart Summer collection, along with 3 cards. She was on fire!

Don't you just LOVE the blue modeling paste Missy used on the black chalkboard paper - it makes it pop right off the page!

Another a great use of modeling paste on this layout; it's so subtle while adding dimension at the same time!

These are all gorgeous. What did you use on the background of that first page? Is it the modeling paste you mention (which I have to be honest I have never heard of), or watercolors, or spray ink... or ???
