Hi All! Wendy here with my first Life Documented blog post for ya!
I'm bringing it to ya using where it all started, the original [email protected]! using [email protected]! Life, [email protected]! Color Vibe collections and [email protected]! Cards. Let's take a bow to these collections which absolutely POPS with color in every way! Then, I'm going to mix it up for ya with 12x12 and 6x8 size Simple Stories Pocket Pages.
Hey, did you know the secret to the 12x12 [email protected]! Leather Album? These unique albums are genius worked to fit BOTH the 12x12 & 6x8 size Simple Stories Pocket Pages and you can MIX IT UP all in one album. Told ya, genius (clearing my throat).
Like a few others around here, I'm jumping into Life Documented mid-year. I thought I would just roll with it even though January has long past and every intention to start in that first month but gosh here is June (almost gone) and let's just make it happen NOW, right? Hey, at least, I'm organized up...(using wood milk crates found at Hobby Lobby)...
Also, I confess, I'm quite the busy girl as an audit manager & travel quite a lot... so life is not in the cards for me to sit at my art desk every day. My creative days are the weekends (and some week nights when home). So, I'm just working the highlights for the month and year so far into my Life Documented. So, if you are like me, you can just start now and not be overwhelmed by the process to kick off on January 1, know what I mean? Also, the 6x8 [email protected]! Leather Album is an excellent option for on-the-go peeps and those just wanting to start out with Life Documented.
So, without further ado....let's kick off my Life Documented.
1. Food Wrappers: Being on the road traveling with work, I eat at lots of neat spots & some traditional spots as well. So, how about those really cool wrappings? I always ask for an extra (aka clean wrapper) to use for my album and pics when ready to document.
2. Drink Coasters: Did you know these drink coasters were the perfect 4x4 size to fit into the 6x8 Simple Stories Pocket Pages? No trimming & voila...Yep, give it a try.
3. Restaurant Menus & Business Cards: I save menus at my fav spots to eat while on foodie travels and again the various sizes in 6x8 Simple Stories Pocket Pages works like a charm! I even use the 6x8 side by side as a double size with a menu cut in half (as shown above). Sometimes I go without using the 6x8 Simple Stories Pocket Pages, punch holes, and insert.
4. [email protected]! Life 12x12 Fundamental Cardstock Stickers|#2802, [email protected]! Life 12x12 Calendar Cardstock Stickers|#2803 [email protected]! Stamps - Snapshots|#4023: Work it on the embellishments with this great combo from the [email protected]! Life line. I"m all about some stamps, so that label stamp made its way on my 6x8 page.
5. Work it monochrome: Here I splashed in some 12x12 using one sheet of [email protected]! Color Vibe Paper Kit|#2825. Sometimes one color is all you need + a bit of pattern. Cut up one sheet of 12x12 to fit into the Simple Stories Pocket Pages + 4x6 photo = instant page.
6. [email protected]! Letter Stickers|#4020: I confess when I saw this simple font in bold colors in one multi-pack, I made a hoard of them. No joke. They are the perfect size for mini projects, cards, and of course, Life Documented. Here I used them directly on my photo plus a word cut from my Silhouette Cameo.
7. [email protected]! Binders & Inserts: I simply LOVE the [email protected]! Pages - 6x8 Calendar Pages|#4032 and guess what? They too fit perfectly in the 6x8 and 12x12 [email protected]! Leather Album. Oh, and don't forget to jazz them up too with photos and embellishments!
Here I used my vintage typewriter on these cool cards for a "he said" "she said" bit of journaling.
8. Chipboard, Stamps, and Stickers: A bit of [email protected]! crazy medley worked here with the [email protected]! Chipboard Stickers - Hello|#4033. I love dimenstion in my albums and this is the perfect touch with the "&".
9. Photo Mix: I love the effect of the 12x12 [email protected]! Pocket Pages|Variety Pack|#4047 to add a play on 3x4 and 4x6 photos. Perfect interest to your pages yet a clean flow!
10. Transparencies: Let's not forget one of my favs you'll find in the Simple Stories collections....transparencies! Here I cut out the word from one of the 4x6 transparencies in the [email protected]! Life Collection Kit|#2800.
Definitely don't forget about the really neat [email protected]! Pouch|#4034 to store all the extras you have yet to add in. I like to keep one of these in the front of my album.
I will be using the 12x12 [email protected]! Leather Album in teal for my Life Documented weeks. I'm not really much of a 12x12 scrapper, and mostly work in a mini album format, so I'll probably mix it up with a 6x8 teal leather album too, just for kicks. Hey, gotta' love that Simple Stories makes it possible with those two options in 12x12 and 6x8. You can check out the other album colors and sizes here on the blog.
I've used the 12x12 [email protected]! Pocket Pages|Variety Pack|#4047
and the 6x8 [email protected]! Pocket Pages|Multi-Pack|#2011
This multi-pack gives you a taste for all which includes 10 Pocket Pages, many sizes available, pockets are true to size (no need to trim down 4x6 photos or 3x4 cards to fit), pockets have a little extra room to add embellishments, if desired, thick/sturdy construction, acid free, archival safe.
Hope you enjoyed this mad mix of using 12x12 and 6x8 size Simple Stories Pocket Pages & I've inspired you with a "few" ideas for working up your Life Documented album!
Wendy, you nail it every time showcasing the great SS collections with your own unique spin on LOs with great tips! I also save drink coasters and started incorporating those into my albums after I used one in my NYC Christmas album back in 2005 - dimension/memorabilia/color pop all in one item + perfection. Now I search them out for that use and we kinda plan our vacas around the good eats - LOL!! Thanks for sharing - started off this hump day with a Simple Stories smile. :-)

Beautiful and visually interesting album! There is so much to look at and I love the smaller pages mixed in. I cannot wait to get my hands on these new pages!! I wonder if they will fit in my CTMH post bound albums?
