Rebecca Says: I used several of the Awesome Elements for the Elements Challenge on my layout. I usually think about the elements like puzzle pieces. I start by cutting out pieces that go along with my layout. In this example I used several that had stars on them since I was using the star background. Some I cut out as is, others I fussy cut smaller than the original element (like the big circle with the star). Then I start piecing them together. The large one I used for a large amount of typewritten journaling, the strip runs along the bottom tying it all together and a smaller element on the right hand side of the photo completes the layout.
Allison states: I'm super busy this semester with little time for scrapping. So, I must have been thinking crazy when I decided to take on Project Life this year. Nonetheless, that's exactly what I did. But with Simple Stories' Design Elements, Project Life is a breeze. I don't have to think too hard, and yet I still get a fun, decorated week by week view of my year. For this week's edition, I used a WeR Memory Keeper page protector and combined vertical 4x6 and a horizontal 6x12 Element pieces. The papers already have a layered look, but by adding a few extra stickers, punches, brads, and staples, I was able to make it my own. I also combined the alphas and some word stickers from the Documented line which coordinated quite well! With my busy lifestyle, this was a perfect way to start playing catch up on my project.
Emily Says: I used some of the "Fabulous" signature elements in a mini album. They work perfectly for little phrases & journaling tags! The border elements are great to add to the side of a "less decorative" sheet of paper to jazz it up a little. I love that the signature elements come with the paper packs and 6x6 pads, it's very convenient to have elements & paper all in one that coordinate with each other!
Kay States: I used several different types of Simple Stories elements from the Fabulous line as I created my divided page projector project including 3x4 flash cards, bingo cards, 4x6 journaling and element cards and 4x4 element cards. Each different element fit perfectly with my photo a day project!
Jill Says: I used Awesome 4 x 6 Journaling Card Elements #1 (#2210) as a mat behind my photo. I only wanted numbers 1-4 to show so I covered the #5 with a star sticker. Next, I cut apart the 2 x 12 Border & 4 x 12 Title Strip Elements (#2214) and used the striped piece with the file folder tab on the left of my layout. I placed an "Awesome" sticker on the tab. Finally, I also used the 6 x 12 Page Elements (#2215). To give the piece a little more texture, I machine stitched the four larger pieces of patterned paper and distressed the edges.
