Hi Simple Stories friends. Heather here today and I am so excited to debut my first Simple Stories project with you today.
The Homespun collection is absolutely wonderful with it's woodgrain backgrounds and rich colors and dainty yet still masculine patterns and embellishments. It can be used for so many layout themes. I chose to use it to capture the essence of how families stick together, like my girls in this super sweet photo of them.
One thing you'll learn about me is that I absolutely love patterns and embrace color. And I also enjoy fussy cutting, as evident in the flowers and doilies I cut from pattern paper in the layout above.
I also love to add lots of layers behind and around my photos. The patterns in the Homespun collection, with the tone on tones, and fun patterns were a perfect pairing with the photo, stickers and embellishments.
For my title, I used the chipboard FAMILY letters to make a bold statement in the "white space" that I had remaining. I then paired it with stickers to be used as a sub title and enhanced it with additional chipboard embellishments. Normally, I would include journaling where I placed the sub title but I felt that the stickers told the story well. I will be adding additional journaling on the back to express how I feel about this sister bond.
