Hi there Simple Stories fans! Nancy Damiano here today with my very first blog post. When I sat down to create a project for this month, the first thing I reached for was the Daily Grind collection. The bold colors and office supply theme are versatile and fun to work with.
I’m always looking for ways to cut down on time without sacrificing good design. This Hello, New Day patterned paper from Daily Grind fits the bill perfectly.
I based the layout on this particular pattern because it’s done half of the embellishment work for me. It has filled a corner with a splash of color, layers and text.
All I needed to add was an enamel dot for texture and a date stamp to personalize it a bit.
The block of stitched aqua cardstock grounds the layout and adds a pop of bright color to the dark background. To repeat the layered look of the patterned paper, I added bits and pieces from several Daily Grind patterned papers.
For this next project I wanted to use the Homespun collection to make a layout about our family gathering spot during the summer. I based the layout on a simple grid and added layers of color, pattern and texture to highlight one of my favorite photos.
I anchored the page using one of the SN@P! Pages from the Homespun collection. It was an easy way to add a pop of color and shape to a corner of the design. I added the canvas heart and enamel dots to the hearts for a homemade touch.
