Hello, Donna here!  Today I want to share with you the layout and the card that I made using Take a Hike for the Simple Stories booth at CHA.  Like many of you, I was overwhelmed by all the wonderful new collections released by Simple Stories this season.  All of it was so very exciting!  Even though my family does not go camping or do many outdoor activities, yet (my oldest son will join the Cub Scouts this fall so that will change soon I am sure!), I was happy to see this new collection because I knew it would be perfect for scrapbooking my adventuresome boys!

My middle son in particular has quite the personality and definitely keeps us all on our toes!  This photo is almost two years old, and as soon as I received the new papers I knew that they would be the perfect match for this picture of Nathan walking on his head, something silly he did often as a toddler.

Once again, Simple Stories has designed the perfect basic patterns to pair with each collection.  I love that you can now get them all in a Simple Basics Kit!

So even if you are not the outdoorsy type, the Simple Basic patterns are well suited to all sorts of topics.

Hi, it’s Yuki here today with a simple page using the Fabulous 6x6 paper pad and a Simple Basics Designer Cardstock from the Awesome collection.

 

I love to mix the boyish collections and the girly collections on my projects. Simple Stories has both cool collections and feminine collections in their products line, that’s why I love Simple Stories! 

 

I took the Grey wood / Dictionary paper included in the Awesome collection and used it as a background page.

 

I cut out the elements in the Fabulous 6x6 paper pad and arranged them on the left side of my page.

Simply Fantastic Fall Hues

For most people, the coming of Fall is bittersweet. Usually people are a bit sad to the see the summer go and get back into the hectic schedule of work and school. But the crisp nights, the Fall treats and upcoming holidays lend excitment to the air. For those of us living in the Southwestern United States, we don't get any Fall weather until well into November. So Fall lines tend to be my absolute favorites. I love the colors and the hopeful anticipation of better weather! Harvest Lane is my absolute favorite Fall line EVER. Seriously. I love the wood grain, the bright pops of jewel tone colors and of course the perfect designs. For CHA, I used Harvest Lane to make this layout:

I took a strip of most of the patterned papers included in the collection and stitched them around the wood grain to make the frame.

Oh, how I adore those tape stickers! And the sweetest trees I've ever seen:

{Simply} Handmade Holiday

    Hi it's Kellie here today, with a few projects I made for the CHA booth.  I am in love with all the new collections, one of my new favorites is Handmade Holiday.  I know it might be a little early for Holiday projects but I could'nt resist.  For my project I made countdown to Christmas stockings, to either hang on a  garland or around the Christmas tree.  My thought was to put notes inside for something fun to do, and on the tag inside the stocking I could journal what we did that day and use it on a scrapbook page.

I think I used every bit of paper from the Handmade Holiday collection.  Along with the Handmade Holiday collection I  also used burlap, jute twine, wood beads, bakers twine,  crocheted ribbon, felt, and chipboard to make the stockings.  I used my pinking shears to cut out the stockings and then sewed them together.

  I ended up making 13 stockings, I made them double sided with the last one (day 25) by itself.

{Simply} New and Oh So Fabulous!

Hi...Guiseppa here.  I think we are all still in shock from all of the CHA goodness, especially the new collections from Simple Stories.  How about that Sn@p?  It's gonna give new word to the meaning of snap...my life will never be the same.

So, today I am going to share a couple of projects I made with the new Take A Hike and Handmade Holiday Collections.  Here is a quick glimpse at these fabulous collection...cause we just can't get enough.

Just when you think Simple Stories can't top their last collections...they go and create these fabulous collections.  So, here is a look at a couple of my first projects using Take a Hike and Handmade Holiday.

The Take a Hike Collection has to be one of my favorite new releases.  Our family spends a lot of time outdoors, so this collection will be getting a lot of use.  

Now for Handmade Holiday.  I can see my self making some pretty fun, amazing and gorgeous cards with this collection.  Well, what do you know...I have one right here.  For this card, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out.  This is one of the fabulous Samatha Walker's die cuts from the Silhouette Store.

What I love about this card is that it when it opens, it has three areas to place sentiments and embellishments.  I added a Sn@p pocket in the center of my card.

   

Oh look!  This card holds pictures of me and my family.  Just another element added in to give the card more meaning.

This Handmade Holiday Collection is perfect for embellishing too!

{simply} winter

Hello Simple Stories fans! Tonya here today to share with you the projects I made for the Simple Stories booth for CHA. For these projects today I used the new Handmade Holiday line. 

For my first project I wanted to showcase how well this line would work for a non-holiday project. I decided to make a winter layout using the adorable little snow based accents and papers.

For the snowflakes, I die cut the stripe paper and then also cut snowflakes out of vellum and then layered them together for a softer look.

Then I added some touches of red just to liven things up a smidge.

I just love how versatile this line is...your projects don't have to look at all "holiday-ish"!

Next up is a very holiday themed card...

This card really shows how super easy Simple Stories makes it for us. Most of the work was already done for me! The main background paper was simply cut from a 12x12 sheet of  4x6 Journaling Card Elements and then I just simple  embellished with some handcut holly leaves and buttons! Super SIMPLE!!!!

Post CHA Week

Hi friends! Summer CHA is now over and Simple Stories has released four really awesome new lines that I can't wait to get my hands on, how about you? My personal favorite is SN@P- I will definitely be collecting the binders in each color!

For me, now that CHA craziness is behind us, it is now time to start thinking about making room for new goodies! So, today I created a layout using some of my leftover Summer Fresh.

I hand cut the ribbon shape from the Bits of Summer paper, then punched a 2" circle to layer over the "best memory" title. Then, I added cardstock stickers to make my own title. I also used the "Details" journaling spot from the same page, but cut off the edge so it fit on the page a bit better.

I'm looking forward to playing with the new Simple Stories lines, but until then, I'm glad I have a bit more time left with Summer Fresh!

{simple} abundance...

Have you fallen in love with the new Harvest Lane collection like I have?  Autumn is my favorite time of year, so this line just warms me up and makes me anticipate fall's arrival even more.

I created this fun altered paper mache box for the Simple Stories CHA booth using many of the different patterned papers included in the Harvest Lane collection.  It's hard to resist using each pattern as I love the gingham, polka dot, and so much more.  The sweet little jar tag was created using a cardstock sticker from the Harvest Lane sticker sheet and is just one example of the darling images available.

I also created a couple of cards for the booth, each using different patterned papers and cardstock stickers found in the collection...there is just so much to love about Harvest Lane!  It's a must have for your autumn card-making, gift-giving, and scrapbooking projects.

More from Simple Stories at CHA

Good morning, Emily Pitts on deck today. I know Kim showed you a few scenes from the booth here at CHA, but I want to show you a few more. Really, who can get enough pictures of Simple Stories?!?!!

I had the pleasure of working a booth over from Simple Stories and was able to rub shoulders with Kevin, Amber, Jodi, Sue, and Bethany all week. They are as awesome as the paper they bring us, to be honest, probably just a little more. They are kind and fun to be around, really good and genuine people. I am proud to work with them.

My photos are phone photos, so I can't guarentee crisp and clear. I could blame on the lighting at the show. I think I will. :) But I don't think you'll mind too much, I compensate with quantity what I lose in quality. Now I need to stop chatting and start sharing!

Here's the whole booth from the front. Simple Stories was in the first row of the convention center, at the back of the hall. Being right by a small food court and close enough to the restrooms, their location could be considered a prime one.

We're going to come in to the right of this photo. First stop, the Sn@p! display table with a few close ups. There were fun and festive pinwheels, paper straws, and gumballs surrounding the great Sn@p! video they ran all day. Kevin wondered if you guys would like to see that next week. I told him it would be a nice thing to share. So be on the lookout!

A center kiosk held the last show releases, Fabulous and Awesome on one side, the new Sn@p! line on the other, I'll show you that in a minute:

Kim showed you the fun Sn@p! wall with the large magnetic expressions from the line, so I won't do that again, but here's the back display featuring the new Sn@p! system:

Now we are in the back left corner of the booth, sharing the inside of the other display unit. This is full of the Design Team projects using Handmade Holiday. I'm sorry I didn't get a full shot of the display, I missed a couple of projects this way. Not sure what happened.

I didn't get a shot of the Harvest Lane because so many customers were surrounding the display. I apologize, but make up for it with a blurry photo of Kevin. He is the best!
