My youngest son is turning twelve next month and all he wants is Legos. Of course, this is nothing new, all he ever wants is Legos. While I knew that spending time shopping online with me would be fun for him, I wanted to make it just a bit more exciting. I decided to create a set of goodies using the Simple Stories Awesome Collection.
I started with a six pack of Root Beer in bottles, an empty kraft box, and an old catalog cover made of chipboard. Then I went to work with my Awesome Collection of papers and stickers.
I transformed my old catalog cover into an extra-large birthday card where he will find his gift certificate for Legos.

You can see on the right side that there are two flaps --- one lifts up and the other folds down. Inside the bottom flap is where he will find his present!

Next up is the 6-pack of soda bottles:
And finally, I decorated the little box to match. It's a secret, but he is getting his own cell phone too...it will fit perfectly in the box!
I can't wait to give him his presents - so much more fun than a gift card in an envelope!

LOVE this idea! Love to do different things for my kids' birthday....this coming August my boys (twins) will be turning 14!! Kind of bittersweet! But I am going to project-lift this project for their birthday...obviously with some tweaking! They are into music and video games...so gift cards for their favorite stores!!! This is awesome!!! I almost cannot wait! LOVE it..can`t get over!
